Notices for the Budget Hearing and Budget Meeting, were posted in the three town display boxes and local papers, and also posted on the town website.

The Budget Hearing was called to order at 7:00 pm.  Copies of the Proposed Budget for 2008 were available.  It was explained that the amount of the local levy was lower because of the state imposed levy limits.  We can have a referendum in September of 2008 to go over the levy limit next year if we think it is necessary.  Because our population is over 2000, it must go to a referendum to raise it to $2.00 mill rate again instead of the $1.7231 mill rate his year.  We need about $300,000 to operate the town.  Our growth rate is 4.6% this year.  It was 7.66% in 2007.

The Budget Meeting was called to order at 7:30 pm to pas the budget, approve the highway expenses, and approve the local levy.  Motion to pass the Proposed Budget for 2008 by Scott Vanden Heuvel, Scd by Emil Jensen, Passed 16-0.  Motion to approve the highway expenses of $258,000 by Norbert Reinhard, Scd by Perry Baugnet, Passed16-0.  The mill rate for 2008 is 1.7231 per $1000.00 of assessed valuation.

Motion to adjourn the budget hearing and meeting by Norbert Reinhard, Scd by Perry Baugnet, Passed 16-0.
