In the report of the returned money from N.E.W., the Town of Maple
received $1500.00; they will give the whole amount to the Equipment
Fund. It was decided that the other towns would also match
$1500.00 of their money to the Equipment Fund. Motion by Steve,
Scd Dennis, to match the $1500.00 for the Equipment Fund, Passed.
The Fire Dept wants to purchase
a ladder truck. The one they have will not retract the ladder.
The only company that could repair it is in Canada. Discussion as
to whether the money should be borrowed or use the funds they have for
the purchase followed. They could sell the old truck for $4500.00.
Motion by Dennis not to borrow the money for a new truck, Scd Steve,
Passed.
Discussion on hiring The
Sweeney Group to do a Fundraising Feasibility Study for the Stone Barn
project followed. Jodi Sweeney came to the Stone Barn Committee
meeting in January and proposed a fee of $12,000.00 to do this 60-day
study. This is a reduced price from last year. She also
capped her expenses at $500.00. This report is required in order
to apply for the Jeffris Family Foundation grant in June. Jodi
will try to determine if there is enough financial support, through our
sources and her outside sources, to help pay for the barn restorations.
Her campaigns have been successful in the past. The cost of this
study will be incorporated into the amount we ask for when we start our
Fundraising Campaign, so we should be able to recoup this cost.
Motion by Steve, Scd Dennis, to sign the contract to hire The Sweeney
Group, Passed.
Motion to mail cards out before
the revaluation to inform people about it by Dennis, Scd Steve, Passed.
ADJOURN: Motion to adjourn to
