There were 25 people present, two were visitors and not town residents. Frank Burgbe from NEW Rescue Squad gave a report of the operations and finances for their service. They had 456 calls in 2010, 48 to Town of Chase. Their response time is about 7 minutes because they are twelve miles from the station. Their total income was $550,000.00, $237,000.00 subsidies from the towns. They redistributed $41,330.00 back to the towns. Treasurer Jolene Schwarm gave the financial report for 2010; copies were passed out to the people and the cemetery costs were explained. Chairman Gary Van Lannen thanked all the town employees for their service. He said we will probably have $25,000.00 cut from our state revenues in 2012 due to Governor Walkers budget repair bill. He said plans are being made to do the bridge on Schwartz Rd and Brown County Line Rd. We will continue with our recycle program. Chairman discussed a proposal to buy five acres of land to the east of the hall. It is up for sale and we may not get another opportunity to buy land adjacent to the hall. We may use it in the future for parking or a fire station. It is offered for $4600.00 per acre. We do not want to sell the easement but will put in writing that this easement will always be access to the Sutrick land. The easement is recorded in Oconto County. Motion by Jim Mroczkowski, Scd Scott Van Den Heuvel; Purchase the five acres of land on the east side of the hall. Hand vote count was 21 for, 4 against, the purchase of the land, Passed. Motion to not sell the easement and put in writing the 55' on the west side of the hall is access for Sutrick to their property, by Scott, Scd by Jim Mroczkowski, Passed 22 not sell, 0 opposed. State statutes allow $5000.00 per mile for road maintenance. Our road budget is $305,000. Randy Wichlacz from the Pulaski Fire Dept gave a report. They have 43 members; they need more volunteers who can take calls in the daytime. They need 18-20 volunteers to man the trucks. Nine thousand gallons of water are needed in a house or barn fire. The pumper truck can hold that amount of water. They are using the MABAS agreement in case of larger fires. They moved the old truck out; the new ladder truck is in service and sometimes is called to other departments because their ladders are not long enough.
Motion to adjourn to April 13, 2012.
